Spirit Day
A BIG shout out to all students (and staff) that showed their school spirit today. We had many look-alikes in classes and hallways as our students dressed for Twin Day.
Chill and Thrill
On Thursday next week, Parkview will be hosting grades 5 and 6 students from our neighbouring Lindsay schools for a presentation “Chill and Thrill: The Lowdown on Vaping, Cannabis and Substance Abuse”. The presentation is being brought to us by the Essex County Diversion program and will be seen by grade 5 and 6 students across the board.
This expert-led presentation dives deep into the facts, effects, and societal impacts of substance use, equipping students with the knowledge to make informed decisions. Topics include:
- The science behind vaping and cannabis use
- Short and long-term effects on health and brain development
- The influence of peer pressure and media on substance use
- Legal consequences and social impacts
The one-hour presentation will be followed by a question and answer period by our presenters.
Rocks and Rings
The rescheduled Rocks and Rings day happened this week and the remaining half of the school got to participate.
DONATE Gently Used Footwear
Parkview Public School is participating in a shoe drive, sponsored by BioPed Footcare.
During the month of April, shoes will be collected at each classroom. The classroom that collects the most pairs of shoes, during this period, will be treated to a pizza party, thanks to Bioped.
Thank you for your support with this initiative.
